What is the Meaning & Definition of Foundation

From latin fundatĭo, the term Foundation to designate the action and the effect of base (establish, create or build something). The concept is therefore linked to the architecture and engineering. However, the concept of Foundation goes beyond the physical building. The Foundation of a city, for example, has to do with political or social, in addition to the physical and material structure. A city may well be founded by just a few people and a few buildings without importance but the structure can reach a development more important in the long run.
In private law, a Foundation is a legal person to not-for-profit. It's an institution that continues the work of those who are based (by donors) and which respects their solidarity will. The Foundation de France is an example of private not-for-profit organization that helps to achieve social and philanthropic projects, helping people in difficulty, or the Foundation of dignity & women's rights, to name but two among many others.
There are many geographical locations having been baptized under the name of Fundación (the Spanish equivalent of "Foundation"), including a Municipium of the Colombian Department of Magdalena, a district of the Dominican province of Barahona and a Tenerife tram station.
Finally, Foundation ("Foundation" in English, its original title) means a novel consisting of five news, written by Isaac Asimov. These are science fiction stories that are a reflection on the future from possible technological advances. Asimov analyzes the possible interaction and friendliness between humans and robots developed. The author has even postulated laws of robotics to assume operation of these robots.
