The cheesy Word is a term used in the Spanish language on an informal basis or as part of the slang to refer to an overly demonstrative attitude that already passed the limits of what is normally accepted by society. In addition, the cheesy Word can also refer to those expressions, ways of acting or behaving that they claim to have some elegance or style but they don't that remain in evidence as artificial or unnatural. It is unknown for certain, as it is the case with most of the words that form the colloquial language of a language, what is the origin of the word corny but there are some versions. One of them speaks of an Italian family named Sicour (which read backward corny would) which sought desperately to show a social status that did not have and so it fell out in front of those people who naturally accessing more refined circles of society. However, this theory is unproven, and anyway would not explain all the meanings that this term has today.
When we talk about that something or someone is corny we are meaning that it uses expressions, phrases, words or signs of affection very who, worn and overly demonstrative, so much that those who witness it often give them shame. In this sense, the idea that someone might be cheesy has to do obviously with very subjective social parameters since consideration of kitsch varies from person to person.
The kitsch is usually less accepted in men than in women because it is believed that socially man must always show an attitude harder, reluctant to signs of affection and tenderness while that the woman is allowed to over or it is seen so ridiculously. Therefore inversely to the believed the corny or kitsch idea applies more to men women since both of them not surprising nor generates rejection.
