What is the Meaning & Definition of official
The designation of official in our language is applied extensively to nominate that individual who performs work in a role of the State, i.e. exercising an occupation in the public service. A President of the nation, a Senator, a Congressman, a Defense Minister and a judge of the Supreme Court of justice are examples of public officials. There are various ways through which access to public office, including: via elected in democratic systems, citizen, chosen through voting who wants them to be their representatives and thus occupying such or which public office; by designation or appointment of an authority; and by public competition, i.e., there is some public offices that will be occupied by individuals who have previously won one special contest, among others.
