What is the Meaning of Policy
Politics is human activity relative to decisions that lead to the actions of the society as a whole. The term relates to "polis" which alluded to the Greek cities which were States. In the context of a democratic society, the policy saves significant importance, insofar as it is the discipline that ensures the operation of the system. However, it is correct to say that the interaction between persons with a view to lead the Group towards a number of objectives is intrinsic to humanity since its inception. The political model of a State is also complemented by a predominantly economic model. Without the economy may not think the political actions Today, inside of the capitalist system, two models can be clearly distinguished: the neoliberal where State action is constrained, and does not regulate the market, because this is adjusted and is able to amend its own flaws, and the populist model, posed by a State Auditor, which regulate the financial/economic activity, and seeks to balance the gaps between rich and poor. Many famous authors have been devoted to the analysis of political action: Confucius, related good performance as the ruler with the ethical fitness, whereas only a virtuous man should have authority; Plato argued that all political systems are corrupt by nature and that the Government should rest with a class educated for that activity; Aristotle said that the policy is intrinsic to the nature of man, which is necessary to live fully moral and that all forms of Government may have a proper slope and another incorrect; Nicolás Maquiavelo said that the end justifies the means, in short a position consisting of access to positions of power through the use of subterfuges; Thomas Hobbes referred to a hypothetical State of nature in which men would be absolute freedom, which would trigger constant confrontations, it would be necessary a social contract; John Locke was opposed to the State of nature involved a constant struggle; Jean-Jacques Rousseau assigned other nuances to the idea of social contract developed by Hobbes and Locke; John Stuart Mill praised democracy as a breakthrough; and finally, Karl Marx said that any form of Government until the era represented a ruling class. According to the latter, the society is governed by a class as 'the dominant classes' struggle. In this sense, Marx raises that society is a constant class struggle, and the conflict is imminent and permanent. Within democracy, representative form assumes that individuals choose their representatives by vote, but participation does not extend beyond this action by vote. On the other hand, participatory democracy means a much broader citizens in the political area activity, such as the popular consultations or public hearings. Beyond the position in regard to the exercise of this activity, the truth is that it is necessary to live in society. The widespread opinion that associates it with corruption situations can be certain, more do not invalidate its relevance. Only with this education ensures a better integration citizen, and therefore a greater and better participation. In a global context of crisis and questioning of the activity of representatives of Governments, the effervescence of the political activity of the society in general has promoted in recent years. Protests, demonstrations, and manifestations in different parts of the planet can reflect social action as to fight for the rights of citizens and to protest by improvements in the current economic/political systems.
