What is the Meaning & Definition of food engineering
Food Engineering is involved and focuses on giving food a longer service life
Food Engineering is a branch of engineering dealing with exclusionary way of the food we eat people in our daily lives, i.e., those who make up our diet.Currently, the food habits changed with respect to the beginnings of humankind and it had to do largely with innovation technology and scientific discoveries to imposed him to the food industry and that they ended up making it more complex and diverse.
For example the development and invention of processes like pasteurization, the closed vacuum, freezing, among others, have generated that products that are created with different raw materials of animal or vegetable origin be stored longer. I.e., the science & technology advanced so that foods that are obtained of the countryside and animals last us longer.
Meanwhile, food engineering participates fully in that regard to food a longer useful life and therefore is that it deepens knowledge such as chemistry, physics and biology of food and its raw materials.
That last longer and do not lose their properties and fundamental nutrients
The fundamental mission of food engineering is that the food in question lasts as long as possible, i.e. that maturity is far away in time with respect to the time of the purchase, and that at that time the food don't lose a nutrient. The processing that is given to certain foods will be decisive in its final quality and also what has to do with the loss of essential nutrients. Because if processing failed or was not done as it is the food you not have such good taste, it may be damp or directly losing its nutritional value, therefore the attention of engineering in this phase is fundamental.
Improve foods, which do not lose quality in the manufacturing process to which they are subjected, and at the same time deal with the reduction of costs in regards to development and transfer, and appropriate care of the environment, are the basic concerns of this branch of engineering and the professionals who perform the food engineers are called.
