The sea term is mostly used to designate, on the one hand, that mass of salt water which has size less than the ocean, but also with the same word referred to the whole of the mass of salt water that covers most of the planet Earth, including therein the smaller seas and oceans. Some large lakes, which naturally exceed the average which corresponds, to be called as such, popularly known the word of seas, actually the formal name that lead is also the sea closed or interior, for example, the Caspian Sea, the dead sea, the Aral Sea. The previous distinction on the seas and the rest of those that exist and are which allow us to distinguish and talk about various types of seas, will be determined and will have to see with the contact they have with the ocean, and can they be opened or closed, according to whether are completely surrounded by land or not , as is the case with the Black Sea or continental sea. Then there are three broad categories of seas... the coastal, or littoral seas that are those very large and open, are not separated from the oceans, but they differ from these by being shallower, the amplitude of the tides and the high temperature of its waters. On the other hand, the continental seas and as already anticipates us its name, are located within the continents and communicate with the oceans through a shallow Strait. The main difference with the past is that its tides hold a low amplitude. And finally, closed, or inner seas briefly mentioned at the beginning of the review, occupy extensive endorheic depressions and as we mentioned, correspond to very large lakes.
